The research into wood in the area began with a visit to a couple of sawmills. The visits taught us a lot about the process of the wood; from tree to finished product and we learnt about the different characteristics of tree species. The local aspect was the most important thing about the study. Besides visiting the sawmills, we also got in touch with the Nature and Forest Department of Viroinval which gave us a lot of information about the local forests.
